Cross-posting this for [info]thista
Khairete!

I am pleased to announce that the members of Neos Alexandria have begun work
on the third volume in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

To help promote the revival of traditional polytheistic religions we are
launching a series of books dedicated to the ancient gods of Greece and
Egypt. Volumes will contain essays, poetry, devotional material, original
artwork, and even recipes or sheet music, all focused on a particular
divinity. The library will be a collaborative effort drawing on the combined
resources of the different elements within the modern Hellenic and Kemetic
communities, in the hope that we can come together to praise our gods and
share our diverse understandings, experiences and approaches to the divine.
All of the proceeds for these books will go to help promote the worship of
the gods of Greece and Egypt, by being used to put on a Greco-Egyptian
religious gathering in 2009, bring out further volumes in the series, or
given to charitable causes in the name of the gods.

This volume will be dedicated to Artemis, the ancient Greek Goddess of
hunting, animals, and wilderness.

Please consider submitting your work to this worthy cause!

Send submissions to artemisdevotional@gmail.com

* All submissions must be received no later than September 30, 2008.
* All submissions must be the original work of the author.
* Multiple submissions by the same author are fine – and encouraged!

Did I miss something because you've started work on the 3rd book?

I haven't: different people will be in charge of different anthologies. Our next one will be for Thoth, after that it looks like a toss-up between Hermes, Hekate, and Artemis, depending on which group can come up with their book first

Only Thoth and Artemis. When they have their blurb ready, I'll pass it on. If you have something you'd like to contribute - either for an anthology or our website - feel free to send it my way!

I actually do have a quick something I wrote up Artemis. I don't want my real name on this one though, some of the stuff it talks about is way to personal. I'll send it over.

You and me both. I'll have to rattle their cages and see what's up with that.

I love this series and am so grateful to Neos Alexandria for doing it! I loved "Written in Wine," which came out pretty much at the moment that Dionysos crashed into my skin this February. :)

I'm hovering and waiting for Persephone/Kore, Demeter, Erishkegal, Aphrodite, Cybele, Hestia, Isis, Osiris and Seth. :D

When the group who is in charge of Hekate begins soliciting submissions, will you be posting a call at that time? I would be interested in submitting something for that.

I'm excited about all of those too!

I know that the main editor on the Hekate one has started seriously talking about it - don't know if she's ready for submissions. I'll ask her though. :)

And if you'd like to share your work with a wider audience, we can always use new submissions for the website! You don't even have to be a member of Neos Alexandria to have your work on there: we're just looking to put together the best possible resource on the gods.

Thank you, Sannion! And I will definitely bear the NA site in mind - it would be a strong motivator to really dive into devotional poetry. :)
